The offensive begins. For the 9. Armee, the troops occupy the vast cleared area and attempt to cut the Soviet line on the Morozovsk-Surovikino railroad. The 27. Panzer-Division arrives near Nizhne-Chirskaya.
On the other side of the Don River, the 17. Armee crosses the Aksai River in two different points and the 11. and 14. P.D. engages the defenses of Tsatsa, at 40 km from Stalingrad!
Kotelnikovo is taken.
