Command & Control exemple : ARMIR, 11/15/1942 (in English)

This example comes from a solo game of OCS CB, scenario 7.2. In mid-November 1942, the Russian reserves are moving to cross the Don. The Italian Army (ARMIR) faces it.

The Armata Italiana in Russia (ARMIR) is composed from:

• XXXV Corpo d’Armata (35(Fast))
• Corpo d’Armata alpino (Alpini),
• II Corpo d’Armata (2), outside the zone, in rear area,

for 7 Infantry Divisions, 1 Cavalry Division, and diverse independent units.

Note: The Italian HQs of the ARMIR may each command three Italian Divisions and the Croatian Legion. German Divisions (and breakdown) may be commanded with a limit of two for the entire ARMIR.

Weather is Light Mud / Normal.

As per the Command & Control Home Rules:

• the HQs are chosen one after the other and, for each, a limited number of units in range is selected, and moved;
• the HQs choose to move before or after the selection of their units;
• after each HQ, a "free" no-commanded unit may be selected as if were commanded.
• the other non-commanded units are then moved at 1/2 MA (100% MA in strat move).

1st HQ: XXXV Corpo d’Armata (35(Fast))

It stays in combat mode and selects:

• The D’Aosta Division (already fueled from the previous reaction phase), moving 1/4 into reserve mode.
  
• The 9ª Divisione Fanteria "Pasubio" moving in combat mode.
  
• The 3ª Divisione alpina "Julia" moving in move mode.
  
• Diverse Italian independent units around.

2nd HQ: Corpo d’armata alpino (Alpini)

It stays in combat mode and selects:

• The 2ª Divisione Fanteria "Sforzesca", outside the Army’s zone, will move at 1/2 MA, in move mode.
• An MG battalion besides (same 1/2 MA) moving in combat mode
• Diverse Italian independent units around.

Independent: Raggruppamento CCNN ’3 Gennaio’ (3 Gen) *

• Moving in move mode from Milerovo
  

3rd HQ: II Corpo d’armata (2)

Move mode, selects:

• The 5ª Divisione Fanteria "Cosseria", moving by rail to Milerovo
• A Breakdown staying in Combat mode
  
• The HQ then moves to entrain at Cherviennaya and rail to Milerovo.

Non-commanded units

Other non-commanded Italian units are then moved at 1/2 MA except if in strat move.
